Shining the Light of Jesus
First Baptist Church is a family friendly, multi-generational, mission-minded congregation. Worship is informal and joyful. We like to laugh together, eat together, cry together, pray together, and celebrate together.
We preach the good news of the resurrected Savior and open our hearts to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We pray that the fruits of the Spirit are evident in our everyday behavior.
We know in our hearts that Jesus Christ changes lives. We believe the best way to proclaim the gospel is through an honest and genuine walk with the Lord.

We rejoice in God's grace found in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit will guide us in our walk with Jesus and each other.
We believe that Jesus came to take away our sins, not our minds, so we try to grow in faith and knowledge of Jesus as we allow the fruits of love and joy thrive in our church.
Meet Our Pastor
Favorite Bible Passage: Ephesians 3:14-21 (but so many others; who can choose?)
Judith and I have been married for over thirty years. We have a son, Samuel, of whom we are very proud. I have two sons by a previous marriage, and I am very proud of them as well. We have four grandchildren. I have said on many occasions that my children have grown to be godly men as much despite me as because of me.
I was licensed to preach in 1994 and ordained in 1999. In my 30 years of ministry, I have served three churches. We have been in Trumansburg since October of 2009 and it has been a privilege to serve this great little church. We love Trumansburg and the area with its rich diversity of beauty and life and the wonderful people we have come to know in our time here.
